Want to “get away” for the weekend without the inconvenience of packing, driving, and actually going to the bush? Then you’re the reason glamping was invented.
While you can now camp glamorously in or near most of Australia’s capital cities (including on an inner-city rooftop in Melbourne), consider the ante upped with this latest offering.
Flash Camp – which sets up luxurious bell tents at Kakadu National Park, weddings and various music festivals – will turn Sydney Harbour’s Clark Island into a temporary hotel by erecting 22 specially designed canvas tents, plus a pop-up restaurant by Three Blue Ducks.

The tents themselves, with a diameter of five metres, are surprisingly roomy, and because it’s glam camping, they come equipped with local food and skincare goodies. Aside from the sleeping quarters, there’ll also be a furnished communal lounge and dining area, plus regularly serviced bathroom facilities.
Take a look at what you could be waking up to.
The Flash Camp pop-up hotel will be open on the island from November 19 – December 6, and considering there are 22 of these luxury tents, you could book in for a romantic getaway for two or text your mates and see who’s keen for a pretty memorable group celebration/Instagram-a-thon.
Treat yourself; you know you want to. Rates start at $420 per person, per night, including breakfast, dinner and boat transfers to the island, and you can book here.
