A Melbourne Street Will Be Turned Into A 400m Long Slip’N’Slide

Earlier this year, we reported on a Perth street being turned into a huge slip’n’slide, successfully supersizing the Australian summer tradition. Now the event will glide into Melbourne in 2015, boasting the longest street slide of anywhere in the world.

Slide Melbourne will see a three-lane 400 metre slide take over Lansdowne Street, beside Fitzroy Gardens in East Melbourne. There will be four session times – 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm  – with each session running for two hours. If you’re keen, it’s advised you arrive 90 minutes before the session starts to get your wristband.

The event have also developed a “Splashback Policy” to ensure they manage water responsibly. We’d expect nothing less in the world’s most liveable city. Tickets are $40 plus booking fee, which lets you slide as often as you can for two hours – around two or three times – and are available from the event’s website.

It all goes down between 10am and 6pm on Sunday February 15.
