This London Restaurant Has Turned Itself Into A Living Art Installation

The Chelsea Flower Show comes to the grounds of London’s Royal Hospital of Chelsea every year. It’s a big prestigious event, attracting some very important people like the Queen (The Queen!) and some very regular people, like you and me. But this year’s MVP of the Chelsea Flower Show isn’t even displayed on the hospital grounds. You can actually find it in a very trendy restaurant.

Last year, Michelin star restaurant Sketch got into the festivities of the flower market by covering every inch of its dining room in flowers and plants; in other words Sketch is no stranger to interesting installations. In fact, it labels itself as a gallery rather than a restaurant, due to the imaginative design by famous artists such as Martin Creed and David Shrigley. No doubt you’ve seen Shrigley’s iconic millennial pink tea room on Instagram.

For this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, Sketch has gone bigger and better. Leaving virtually no floorspace, or bathroom, unflowered.

Sketch’s Mayfair Flower Show incorporates five different florists who’ve decorated five bespoke gardens within the restaurant itself.

Rocking up to the restaurant, you’ll be greeted with a wild, magical display weaving around the classic exterior of the restaurant.

You’ll then enter through the door and find yourself in a huge tunnel, surrounded on all sides by all kinds of glorious flowers, that will lead you through to the “market” (main restaurant).

Keep an eye out for the epic floral planetarium, too.
