These Are The World’s Top 10 Landmarks

Travel bible TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2016 have just been announced. This year were treated to an eclectic list of must-see attractions from across this great big blue world of ours.

Chosen by TripAdvisor’s wealth of travel-savvy users, the annual list offers many of the expected “must visit” spots, with a few hidden gems spliced within. The top gong for 2016 was awarded to the Incan city of Machu Picchu in Peru, followed closely by Abu Dhabi’s impressive Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre.

The rest of the top 10 includes main keeps like India’s Taj Mahal, The Temples of Angkor in Cambodia and the Duomo in Milan, Italy.


So it begs the question: how many have you seen?

Australia also got a look in with TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Top 10 Landmarks for Down Under. And in terms of iconic Aussie experiences, it reads like you’d expect – the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House get a look in, and so does Melbourne’s iconic Block Arcade, which was praised for its charm and character.
