Hong Kong Puts On The World’s Biggest Laser Show Every Night

Hong Kong’s Symphony Of Lights is a nightly multimedia show displayed from over 40 buildings around the harbour and listed it as the “World’s Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show” in the Guinness Book of World Records. Coloured lights, lasers and searchlights zoom around the cityscape and harbour, making Hong Kong look like it could be hosting the final act at the Big Day Out’s Boiler Room (RIP).

The show is synchronised to music and spoken narration which is accessible in a variety of languages through different FM radio channels or in person at the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront right near the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The spectacle celebrates the energy, diversity and spirit of Hong Kong via five main themes: awakening, energy, heritage, partnership, and finally celebration.

The show runs for 13 minutes everyday at 8pm and there’s no entry fee – you can see the Symphony of Lights for free from a number of vantage points around the city.

Prepare the “laser”.
