Yayoi Kusama’s ‘Infinity Mirrors’ Are On The Move. Here’s Where They’re Headed Next

One of the most sought-after exhibitions in 2017, Yayoi Kusama’s travelling Infinity Mirrors exhibit has captured the imaginations of culture vultures all over the USA.

Now, following wildly successful stops in Los Angeles, Seattle and Washington, D.C., it’s headed for Toronto’s Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in March, before moving on to the Cleveland Museum of Art – the final stop on its five-city North American tour – in mid-2018.

The move follows the opening of a dedicated Kusama museum in Tokyo. The five-storey complex will be home to a large number of her multimedia artworks, including one of the Infinity Mirrors until February 25.

With a career spanning more than six decades, Kusama found fame with pop art-inspired watercolour and oil paintings on canvas, walls, and everything in between. Her psychedelic, ground-breaking work inspired Andy Warhol, Charles Oldenburg and George Segal, among others.

Tickets for the Toronto run of Infinity Mirrors cost $30 per person and go on sale online at 2am on Tuesday, January 27 (10am Monday, January 26 local time). While a limited number of tickets may be made available for purchase at the museum during the three-month run, we recommend you get in early to avoid disappointment – tickets the LA, Seattle and Washington instalments sold out almost immediately.
