The Best Places To Go For A Swim In Sydney After Work Today
www.awol.com.au
Been outside lately, office dweller? If not, allow me to share the good news: it’s forecast to hit 35 degrees celsius today in Sydney.
If you don’t have to work today then congratulations, you’re probably already at the beach. If you’re trapped at the desk, the silver lining is that it’s still going to be warm at the end of the day. The mercury is tipped to be a sizzling 31 degrees at 5pm and will only “dip” to 25 degrees at 10pm.
Which is to say: you still can, and should, go for a swim after work.
The only question is where to do it. There are endless places to cool off in Sydney, but outside of the major beaches, these are some of your best bets.

Redleaf
The calm waters at beloved harbour beach Redleaf (which was officially renamed ‘Murray Rose Pool’ in 2012 — who knew?) make it perfect for nighttime swims. Your only problem will be competing for a spot on the sand.
Prince Alfred Park
If you work in the city, you’re only a hop, skip and jump away from Prince Alfred Park pool. The Surry Hills swimming spot is open until 8pm Monday to Sunday during daylight savings time (which, yes, is now).
Andrew Boy Charlton Pool
A few suburbs over, Andrew Boy Charlton Pool also stays open until 8pm each night. The pool is treated saltwater so you’ll get that ocean pool feeling without the sand.

Clovelly
For more sand-free cooling off, grab a slice of the rock at Clovelly.
Olympic Pool
It’s all about the view at Olympic Pool. You can swim laps (or just splash around, no judgement here) while looking out over the harbour at this Milsons Point pool. And! It’s open until 9pm.
Gordon’s Bay
If you haven’t grammed from Gordon’s Bay do you even live in Sydney? Hit the water, laze on a rock or spread out on the sand at this local favourite.
McIver’s Ladies Baths
Unwind after work in the women-only sanctuary of McIver’s Ladies Baths at Coogee. It’s open until sunset each day, with entry by gold coin donation.
Parsley Bay
BYO inflatable device and float in the (rather deep and quite cold) water at Parsley Bay. Or just hang out on the jetty like you’re part of the Dawson’s Creek cast.
Bronte Pool
Looking for a true late night swim?
Head to Bronte Pool which, away from the crowds of Bondi and Coogee, gets seriously tranquil after dark. The ocean pool never closes and is separated from the actual ocean by four walls, making it safe for a midnight plunge.
