Set your brain to “freeze” mode. Victoria’s annual Ice Cream Festival kicks off today at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, just an hour out of Melbourne.
Each day sees 12 new artisan flavours introduced, all carefully crafted on site using traditional, exotic and natural flavours, meaning there’s 144 different varieties on offer over the course of the 12-day festival. Entry is free and the ice creams come in cones, cups, different desserts and sundaes, starting at $4.80 a scoop. There are also ice cream tasting sessions – for $12 a head you get to try 12 different flavours over the course of 30 minutes.
Visitors also have the chance to win a year’s supply of ice cream to see you through the summer (plus the other three seasons – it’s never actually a bad time for ice cream, you know). Plus, while you’re in the area, you can check out the amazing wineries, restaurants and natural beauty that make the Yarra Valley one of the lushest spots to visit in Australia.
The Yarra Valley Ice Cream Festival kicks off today and finishes up on March 1, open between 9am and 5pm at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, 35 Old Healesville Road, Yarra Glen, Victoria. Click here for more info.
