PSA: You Can Cuddle Cute Dogs While You Wait For Your Flight At Vancouver Airport

In further proof that literally everything is better with dogs, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has introduced a scheme that allows stressed-out travellers to hang out with some Very Good Doggos while they wait for their flight.

The therapy dogs have been stationed throughout the terminals and at the indoor dog park since August as part of the Less Airport Stress Initiative (LASI).

Molly, Bailey, Mira, Norman, Grover, Kermode and Soda are all specially trained by St John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog program, meaning they’re primed to provide comfort to even the most anxious fliers.

(Fortunately, travellers who are cool as cucumbers are also welcome to dole out belly rubs and pats, too.)

“By introducing the YVR Ambassador Dogs through our LASI initiative…we hope that out four-legged friends will help to easy any anxiety associated with travel,” Reg Krake, Vancouver Airport Authority Director of Customer Care, said in a media release.

You can find at least two of Vancouver International’s Ambassador Dogs at the doggy park between 11am and 1pm, Monday through Friday. Just look for the cute canines with the St John’s Ambulance bandannas.
