These Are New Zealand’s 10 Most Instagrammed Spots Of 2016

Instagram has released its top 10 Instagram spots for New Zealand, and the results have us dreaming about life across the ditch.

We’ve been lusting over New Zealand pretty hard lately (and it may or may not have something to do with this IRL fairytale). To be honest, it’s hard not to: the land of the long white cloud is home to hobbits, the Haka and some of the most breathtaking landscapes on the planet. It makes sense then that we’d want to Instagram the hell out of the place.

With the social media giant crunching the numbers for 2016, it seems the inimitable Lake Tekapo was the most tagged spot on Instagram in all of NZ. Lake Tekapo is the kind of place that desktop wallpaper photographers dream of, spanning over 83 square kilometres, with a very epic set of hot springs on its shore.

The list wouldn’t be complete without Hobbiton, with the movie-set village coming in at #6 behind other incredible spots Milford Sound and Takapuna Beach.
