How’s The Serenity? The Kerrigans’ Iconic Bonnie Doon Holiday Home Is Listed On Airbnb

“We’re goin’ to Bonnie Doon! We’re goin’ to Bonnie Doon!”

Many an Australian (my dad) has hummed that merry tune as the whole family piles into the Torana and, now, you can really mean it! The humble holiday home featured in the iconic 1997 film The Castle is available for rent on Airbnb.

Sleeping up to six guests, it looks more or less like it did way back when. There’s a refurbished retro-style kitchen, bunk beds, and an on-site pool room with space for an additional two guests (or your certificate from Sunshine TAFE).

Fitness enthusiasts will also be pleased to find Con’s boxing bag fixed to a gum tree outside for kickboxing 24 hours a day.

On top of all that, there’s an ad for the Trading Post, a kennel for Coco and, yep, jousting sticks, though guests will have to BYO bug zapper and rissoles.

The home last hit the market back in 2014 and sold the next year for a tidy $225,000. The sale included furniture and genuine memorabilia from the movie.

It’s located an hour’s drive from the slopes at Mount Bulla, while Lake Eildon is just steps away – which is convenient for those who love a big two-stroke engine.

It’s available for rent from $200 per night. It really is unfair to compare anywhere else to Bonnie Doon.
