The Best Margaritas In Sydney To Celebrate National Margarita Day

Gather round, friends, because one of the best days of the year is almost here. This weekend we raise a glass – whether it be iced, straight, spiced or frozen – to the humble margarita.

No matter how you like to consume the tequila and lime cocktail, we can all agree that National Margarita Day is the perfect excuse to throw back a few too many. This Saturday, February 22 is the day, and every venue worth visiting is doing something special to celebrate.

We’ve rounded up the very best margaritas in Sydney, from bottomless pours to slushies and fun takes on the classic cocktail.

Here are 6 of Sydney’s best margaritas to get around this weekend and beyond:

#1 The new kids on the block

Cartel are the new kids on the block in Chippendale’s Spice Alley, but their range of margaritas and other cocktails are to die for. Heck, they even have a literal margarita tree.

The food is fab too, so you’ll have plenty of tacos and empanadas to soak up your cocktails and frankly make for a perfect weekend.

#2 Cheap margaritas

The margs at Chica Bonita are already some of the best in town, and this Saturday they’ll be even better because they’ll only cost you a neat $10 bucks (alongside $5 tacos).

Chica Bonita dreams big, and offer some truly inspired flavours like a spicy jalapeño margarita, a pineapple and coconut margarita, a beetroot margarita and a watermelon margarita.

#3 Free-flowing margaritas

Bondi’s Panama House is upping the ante on their regular bottomless brunch and pouring free-flowing margaritas as a sweet add-on.

For just $25 extra, you’ll get as many of their signature pink margs as you like while you dine on dishes like corned beef hash croquettes with garlic aioli and a whole lotta fajitas.

If you’re here for a good time, not a long time, Panama House is also serving the margarita at a massive discount for just $12 all day.

#4 Bubble tea margaritas

Massive shout-out to the person who did the impossible and found a way to make bubble tea and margaritas even better. The Burwood Hotel makes an Aloe Vera Boba Margarita with tequila, honey aloe vera, lime and lychee popping pearls. Wow, the power of this drink.

#5 Bottomless margaritas with all-you-can-eat tacos

Potts Point’s Mexican spot Sonora couldn’t have opened at a better time. While it’s not technically putting on an event for National Margarita Day, the restaurant does all-you-can-eat tacos with bottomless margaritas every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Okay, so you can actually choose between free-flowing margaritas, beer and rosé — but who’s out here passing up the opportunity for bottomless margs?

#6 $100 margaritas

This exxy marg from Bar Patrón works hard for its price tag. It’s got Patrón Gran Burdeos, Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac, Grand Marnier Cuvée Du Cent Cinquantenaire and nitro-chilled finger lime pearls, plus a gold leaf to top it all off.

PSA to anyone on a budget: Bar Patrón is also slinging a variety of other margs for more normal prices.
