It seems like it was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away that Disney announced it would be bringing Star Wars experiences to its parks in the United States. We’ve been waiting for more details of the Star Wars land, jumping at any little bit of info, like drone footage of the park under construction. The wait for info is over!

We finally have some more details to share after Disney revealed on the weekend some tidbits about what galactic experiences you can expect at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge the official name of the Star Wars land).

The two signature rides of the parks have been revealed. The first replicates the familiar experience of piloting the Millennium Falcon just like old buddies Han, Luke and Leia from the Original Trilogy, or Rey and Chewbacca from the new films. Aspiring scoundrels will be able to take control of the Falcon in “one of three unique and critical roles” during the Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction.

The second attraction, titled Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, lets wannabe Jedi join the battle between the First Order and the Resistance, leading to a confrontation with Kylo Ren.

The two experiences will pair with the Play Disney Parks app, allowing guests “to become galactic travellers and live their own ‘Star Wars’ stories in a galaxy far, far away.”

As an added bonus, Disney also revealed that John Williams himself – the Oscar-winning composer of the score for all main-series ‘Star Wars’ episodes – will record new themes especially for the ‘Star Wars’ land attractions. You can catch a preview of the new ‘Star Wars’ tunes below.
