At Siam Park, A Waterslide Passes Right Through A Shark Tank

Siam Park Tenerife

There are more death-defying attractions around the world than any thrill-seeking theme-park lover could ever hope to take on, though few of them involve real live sharks. But, at Siam Park in Spain’s Canary Islands, revellers can take a spin on a water slide that cuts straight through the middle of a shark tank.

Europe’s largest water park boasts a mind-boggling network of slides, pools and rides, but few – not even the 28-metre drop off the so-called Tower of Power – are as thrilling as the park’s lazy river.

At first, it’s a reasonably relaxing experience, but the current quickly increases, rapidly whisking visitors into the tank hidden below ground. It slows again as they pass through, providing ample opportunity to take in the surrounds.

Cut to 1:12 for the good stuff.

The Thai-themed Siam Park is located on the island of Tenerife, just off the coast of Morocco. Tickets start from $50 (E35) for adults and $35 (E24) for children. It’s open 10am to 6pm daily.
