Pet Stars: An Extremely Cute Pop-Up Photoshoot For Your Dog

Judging by my Instagram feed, photos of dogs are some of the best things in the world. Pet Stars, a new pop-up coming to Australia, lets you go snap happy with your very good boys and girls in 20 themed rooms — and of course there are costumes!

Pet Stars calls itself an Insta-museum, but honestly it’s just an excuse to take an unreasonable amount of photos of your best friend. Your dog will look fabulous sitting on the ‘Game of Bones’-style Iron Throne (swords have been given the boot, replaced by doggy treats).

There’ll be twenty photo spaces all up, all decked out with colourful pop-culture themes including the circus, high tea, a doggy Hall of Fame, and a ball pit filled with squeaky toys and tennis balls, of course.

Your dog can pose in the Paw Stars glamour room, the ‘Doggy Style’ grooming salon or the room littered with ‘Jimmy Chewed’ shoes. There’s even a Christmas-themed room, just in time for your next holiday greeting card.

Pet Stars is a dog-only event, but there’s a purrfectly exclusive Cat Night Out hour every Thursday. Sadly, if you’re the proud owner of “larger animals, snakes or scary creatures” you won’t be able to bring them along on any night.

Don’t have a dog or a cat? No worries! The Animal Welfare League of Queensland will be running an adoption drive throughout the event, so you can take one home or just stop by for a cuddle. For every ticket sold, $1 will go towards the welfare organisation.

Pet Stars kicks off at the Gold Coast‘s Carrara Markets on November 29, and will run from Thursday to Sunday for three weeks. After that, it’ll travel down to Sydney and then Melbourne in early 2020. You can buy tickets for the Gold Coast season here.
