Jingle All The Way On Napa Valley’s Christmas-Themed Wine Train
The Hogwarts Express might get all the glory, but there’s another locomotive spreading some magic of its own in California‘s Napa Valley: In November, the region’s infamous Wine Train becomes the Santa Train, and it’s all we want for Christmas.
The Wine Train operates year-round and is exactly what it sounds like. But, at Christmas, it transports passengers from central Napa to a heavily decorated station in Yountville, where Mrs Claus, Santa, his reindeers and workshop await.
On board, travellers can belt out carols, play Christmas games and enjoy quintessential American treats like cookies and hot chocolate.
Because wine is available for purchase on board and passengers are invited to BYO, the Wine Train is typically restricted to those over the age of 21 years. But, when the Wine Train is transformed into the Santa Train, those under the USA’s legal drinking age are invited to take part in the fun. The more, the merrier, we say.
If you’re planning on celebrating Christmas in the Napa Valley, a corkage fee of $19.50 ($15USD) applies to all 750ml bottles. Services run from 5pm to 7:15pm ($65 / $49USD) or from 6:45pm to 9:15pm ($90 / $69USD) between November 18 and December 29.
