Melbourne Music Week kicked off on Friday, with the city displaying once again what it’s celebrated for – music initiatives, venues and a general left-of-centre approach to holding events. Having previously hosted gigs at Flagstaff train station, St Michael’s Uniting Church and –naturally – on trams, this year’s Melbourne Music Week continues to push the boundaries of what constitutes a performance space. Festival Director Elise Peyronnet takes us through her favourite venues at this year’s event. Click through to see them.
