Meet The Instagrammer Eating Her Way Across The World
Food and travel go hand-in-hand – like peanut butter and chocolate, or Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Travelling opens up doors to exotic culinary delights, but when you’re travelling alone, it’s often a tough to fully enjoy your delicious moments when there’s no one to share it with.
Instagrammer Melissa Hie knows this reality all too well. Her solution was to turn to the Internet, to keep herself from feeling lonely.
Known by her Instagram moniker @girleatworld, Melissa travels across continents, sharing her delicious culinary adventures to her 300k fanbase.
[related_articles]5193,22130,6851,6132[/related_articles]Speaking to Bored Panda, Melissa says it all started on a solo trip to Europe back in 2013. “During the trip I had the chance to taste many delicious foods from the countries I visited… however I had no one to share it with, so I ended up taking pictures of the food with the amazing European backdrop at wherever place I was having it.”
She began her travels in Germany, Austria, Czechia, Netherlands and Belgium, documenting her foodie adventures on her blog and Instagram. The results, as you can imagine, were delicious.
Melissa has even started the #weeatworld hashtag to encourage others to share their food journeys.
It kinda makes you want to hop off and try all the street food you can find, right?
