If you’re one of those people who got a tad – ahem – competitive during a game of Mario Kart back in the day, you’d have been stoked to learn that a real-life version of arguably the world’s best video game exists in Japan (where else?). And, now, it’s headed Down Under.
Mushroom Racing will see speed demons don their best Mario, Luigi, Yoshi or Princess Peach get-up and zoom around Sydney and Melbourne in the coming months (dates for both locations have yet to be confirmed).
[related_articles]37495[/related_articles]There’s no word yet whether or not drivers will be unleashed on the cities’ streets, as they are in Tokyo, or confined to a (possibly rainbow) track. We do know they’ll be given the opportunity to collect stars in exchange for prizes, though we expect throwing bananas will be banned.
According to the media release, tickets for both events will be extremely limited, so sign up to the mailing list for updates, and watch this space for more information.
