Head Down To Hybrid World, Adelaide’s Tech And Innovation Event, This Weekend

Hybrid World Adelaide

Where the real and digital worlds collide and ultimately evolve.

Hybrid World Adelaide is an epic tech event that explores how the real and digital worlds collide and ultimately evolve together. There’s something on the programme for everyone, so whether you’re a true blue digi-geek or just tech-curious, you’ll want to check it out this weekend.

The annual tech event launched last year, inspired by Austin Texas’ iconic SXSW Interactive, and it’s the only one of its kind in Australia. From July 20 to 24, there’s a huge line-up of opportunities to engage with the latest and greatest in tech culture.

They’ve outdone themselves this year with a line-up of amazing speakers, including NASA’s Dr Christyl Johnson, who started out as an intern and worked her way up to be the organisation’s first female African-American Deputy Director.

André Noël Chaker, one of Finland’s leading business speakers, writers and high profile entrepreneurs, is delivering a keynote session, while Dr Phillip Alvelda — the founding CEO of a company on the frontier of anthropomorphic AI and machine learning tools — will also be there to share his knowledge. Marita Cheng, the founding CEO of a company which makes uses robotics to facilitate school, work and socialising for people who are hospitalised, disabled or elderly, is among the many genius minds to hear from.

Hybrid World Adelaide is held at the Adelaide Convention Centre and is split into three main sections – there’s the interactive events (both free and ticketed) that run over July 21 and 22, where you can get hands-on and play with things like robotics, 3D printing, virtual reality, e-sports, and drones, and hear from the likes of Marc Fennell, Bajo and YouTuber Muse Elk.

Then, from July 23 to 24, there’s a high-level industry tech conference, where you can hear international and local world-class experts talk on the current wave of technological change and how to make sense of its impact.

It explores the coming together of the real and digital that creates the ‘Hybrid World’ that we live in, and where we’re headed. So if you want to know more about the latest and greatest in tech culture, get involved.
