Here’s A Cave Shaped Like Your Favourite Country

The Aurora Australis is the southern counterpart to the much famed Northern Lights. But ours isn’t one to stick our nose up at. We’ve got a pretty impressive natural light show Down Under, and one photographer has found the best place in the country to view it.

Victorian photographer Steven Sanders found a rugged cave south-east of Melbourne that offers a spectacular view of the Aurora Australis. The best part? It’s shaped like Australia.

Catching the colourful hues and sharp bursts of light in the Aurora Australis are notoriously difficult to capture. Sanders wrote on his Instagram about the important Indigenous myths and stories that surround the phenomenon and what makes it so special to our country.
