The last thing you might have been expecting when planning for international travel was pencilling in your catch up with George and Amal Clooney at their Lake Como villa, but here we are.

George announced this week that, in partnership with charitable fundraising platform Omaze, he’s keen to fly out a lucky winner (and their plus one) to Italy for a super primo getaway.

“As soon as this pandemic is over, I want you to come celebrate with Amal and me at our house in Lake Como,” the silverfox says in his video. “I’m serious, to support my foundation, we’re going to fly you and a friend out to Italy.”

“We’re going to put you up at one of our favourite hotels and have you over to our place for a little get-together,” George says.

This getaway includes airfares to Italy, where you’ll be put up at a 4-star hotel on the stunning Lago di Como, then you’ll get to ‘share a toast with George and Amal and get to know them over lunch.’ Yes please. They’ll even let you take a selfie with them for posterity.

For reference, these are Lake Como vibes:

While no payment is required to enter, the whole point is that you’ll hopefully donate to Clooney’s charity.

The Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ) is an organisation that works to end human rights abuses around the world. CFJ fights for the rights of individuals unfairly targeted by oppressive governments through the courts and works to expose the corruption that fuels grave human rights violations.

CFJ also advances justice for marginalised and vulnerable communities targeted by hate, displaced children deprived of opportunities to learn, and refugees seeking to rebuild their lives abroad.

For a US$10 donation, you can snag 100 entries with donation tiers going all the way up to US$100 for 2,000 entries. And yes, Australians are eligible to apply – they’ll hold the prize until it’s safe for people to travel internationally.

When you’re supping with The Clooneys, be sure to ask George for his local travel tips. He’s a longtime lover of Lake Como, putting the stunning area in the spotlight as far back as 2002.

The giveaway is open now until July 16 and a winner will be drawn in the first week of August. And just to reiterate, Australians over 18 are actually eligible to enter.
