Florida Is Building The World’s Tallest Roller Coaster

The plan for the tallest roller coaster in the world was unveiled this week and the design has us clutching our pearls with excitement. No wait, is that terror? It’s a thin line.

The Floridian coaster – aptly named Skyscraper – will soar to heights of 150 metres (about 50 stories). The beast twists, loops and spirals up, around and back down the Skyplex Entertainment Complex inside, which includes an upper level observation deck where rational humans can keep their feet firmly planted while watching the poor souls on the ride through glass panels. The ride goes for four full minutes which means you could listen to ‘Please Please Please Let me Get What I Want’ by The Smiths not once, but twice. (We’re all in agreement that what you want is to just get the roller coaster, right?)

The Skyscraper in Florida is scheduled to open in 2017.
