An Unseen Side Of One Of The World’s Oldest Cultures

Ashraful Arefin is a fine art photographer based in Dhaka, Bengladesh. As a young boy, he heard legends of Varanasi, an ancient city in northern India, forever wishing to visit and document his experiences. As an adult, he did just that, photographing the people, capturing their lifestyle and rich culture. “Each city has its own story to tell and I am willing to portray them through my photographic frame,” Arefin told AWOL. He says the images he’s captured convey many emotions, evoking a sense of humanity.
