A Farm In Canada Is Offering Alpaca Dance Classes

First, we had cat cafes. Then we got goat yoga. And now, we have the next logical progression in animal-obsessed activities: Alpaca dance classes.

Yep, a farm in Manitoba, Canada, is offering a number of classes – from hip-hop to barre and “Paca Pilates” – featuring their furry residents throughout the Northern Hemisphere’s summer. There are also mums-and-bubs classes so little tackers can get to know the fluffy mammals.

The 45-minute classes at 313 Farms and involve all nine of their alpacas.

“We have one in particular, his name is Benny, who likes to give kisses, so he’ll walk right up to somebody and stick his face up and wait for you to bend down and touch noses with him,” series founder Ann Patman told Travel+Leisure. (Boop!)

Patman is a former dance-studio employee and was inspired by the success of goat yoga, which was created in nearby Oregon.

If the dance classes aren’t really your thing, the farm also hosts meet-and-greet sessions where visitors can snap pictures with the famously photogenic mammals or play with them under the hose (which they reportedly enjoy) when the weather’s warm.

Classes cost $10 when booked online or $15 at the door, and are currently scheduled to wind up on August 19, though Patman says she’s considering extending the offer as interest ramps up.
