Fried Chicken Legend Butter Is Serving Eight Limited-Edition Sandwiches
Butter is the place to go in Sydney if you’re hungry for fried chicken. They’re beloved for their sandwiches and wings, and now they’re teaming up with some of the city’s best chefs to bring us eight brand new, limited-edition fried chicken sandwiches.
The Friends of Butter Sandwich Series has landed at the Butter Sydney stores in Surry Hills and Parramatta stores. They’ll be serving a different sandwich each week, for the next eight weeks. Every Monday, they’ll introduce a new take on the classic chicken sandwich, dreamed up by some of Sydney’s best chefs. Everyone’s putting their own spin on their creations – the only rule is that they have to use Butter’s signature fried chicken.
[related_articles]60785,64143,62582[/related_articles]The first sandwich is already in stores, so get there before the week’s out to try a Vietnamese banh mi-style sandwich with pineapple sauce, courtesy of the head chef at the much-lauded Chin Chin restaurant.
Next week, get ready for a Middle Eastern-inspired kebab with garlic sauce, chips and pickles. After that, a Western-style Japanese chicken roll with ponzu will take over, and things get spicy in week four with a hot diavolo chicken sandwich.

Week five brings out the series’ sweeter side – a sandwich with salted caramel ice cream, peanut butter and chicken skins. Week six will reward loyal chicken fiends with a katsu sandwich topped with Japanese curry.
The penultimate sandwich comes to us from another Sydney chicken icon – the owner of Newtown’s Hartsyard and Wish Bone is serving up a sandwich with old bay mayonnaise, fermented gherkin and smoky hot sauce.
