A Marvel Land Is Coming To Disneyland In 2020

Marvel, The Avengers

In case you missed it, there’s a lot happening at Disney at the moment. If Star Wars and Toy Story invading The Happiest Place on Earth wasn’t enough, Disney Parks today announced that a Marvel-themed land is coming to Disneyland in 2020.

This. Is. Not. A. Drill.

The news – which came at the delight of comic book fans from across the globe – is huge for the parks. Here’s what we know so far.

The super-charged area will comprise experiences themed around The Avengers and everyone’s favourite friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, in addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! ride that replaced the park’s Tower of Terror last year.

Making space for the new land unfortunately means saying goodbye to an old one. So The Avengers attraction will replace A Bug’s Land, based on Pixar’s A Bug’s Life. It will close later this year, so get your final rides in before it disappears!

As part of the multi-year expansion announced currently underway at Disneyland Paris, the new Marvel-themed area at Walt Disney Studios Park will include reimagined attractions where riders team up with Iron Man and their favourite Avengers on a hyper-kinetic adventure.

Your fave heroes will also be taking to the stage for a brand new live-action production featuring cutting-edge special effects and spectacular projections.

Expansions are also underway at Hong Kong Disneyland, including a new area dedicated to Ant-Man and The Wasp. It’s set to accompany the Iron Man Experience, which opened in 2017 and is already the park’s most popular attraction.
