What To Watch This Christmas Based On How Long You’ll Be Travelling
Merry days-before-Christmas, friends. Pretty soon, most of us will be going home for the holidays (whether you’re excited for that or not), and we’re all beginning to wonder what to watch on the journey.
Just like visiting family on Christmas day is a great opportunity to do nothing, eat everything and see your childhood dog, travelling on Christmas day is a great opportunity to catch up on all the shows and movies you missed from the last year.

What to watch for Christmas, based on how long you’ll be travelling:
Domestic flight
If you’re flying in Australia, you’ll just need to plan out what to watch for an hour or two. Unless you’re all aboard the Sydney to Perth plane, you’ll really only have time for a few episodes of a show, and we humbly suggest the Christmas specials, arguably the best episodes of any TV show.
They’re bursting with chaotic, unhinged holiday cheer. Whomst could forget the moment when Michael Scott, roleplaying a sad Santa in The Office, let Kevin sit on his lap and saw his whole life flash before his eyes in the season 6, episode 13 special “Secret Santa”.

Pick and choose from anything like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, Friends, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Black Mirror, Arrested Development and the Ludachristmas episode of 30 Rock. Even Grey’s Anatomy has done a few — don’t limit yourself!

International flight
You might be heading off overseas for Christmas, in which case you’ve got time to catch up on some of 2019’s best movies. Whether you consider those to be trashy Netflix Christmas movies or the award-nominated Marriage Story starring sad, wide boy Adam Driver is up to you.
Load up your laptop with The Farewell, Awkwafina’s heart-wrenching and life-affirming movie about a family saying goodbye to their dying matriarch.
J.Lo wears the most luxurious coat of all time in Hustlers. Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding are very hot in Last Christmas. And Keanu Reeves is, well, very Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
If you just want something dumb and fun to pass the time, Hobbs & Shaw, the Fast & Furious spin-off starring The Rock and Idris Elba’s muscles, is a beautiful piece of trash.

Long-ass train ride
Trains are great — they’re cheaper than flying and better for the environment. But catching a train through rural Australia takes forever, so you’d better have a game plan for what to watch.
A long train trip is the perfect time to binge all eight episodes of The Witcher, Netflix’s new show starring Henry Cavill as a monster hunter who loves to take long, luxurious baths.

Maybe you won’t get through all nine episodes of HBO’s new Watchmen series in a single trip, but the superhero drama will definitely make the time pass faster.
