If you’re looking for a bit of luxury, boy have we got the place for you; this five star resort is located on the edge of a canyon in Oman, and it truly is as spectacular as it sounds.
Located 2,000 metres above sea level, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar is a luxury hotel a two-hour drive south from Muscat, and a four hour drive across the border from Dubai. With 82 canyon view rooms and 33 private pool villas on offer, there’s something for every opulence-seeker here.
Its incredible views are second only to the luxe decor. For a dry canyon resort, there’s plenty of water sources, including infinity pools and jacuzzis. There’s also an on-site recreation centre that includes a tennis court, gym, sauna and steam room.
If you get peckish head over to the chef’s garden, where the restaurant’s produce originates. You’re encouraged to sample the delicious ingredients as you walk through the lush green gardens.
When hunger arrives, head to one of the three restaurants, or pop over to the deli for cheese, snacks and dessert. Then, if you’re so inclined, you can head over to the famed Shisha lounge where you can sample countless flavours of tobacco.
Aside from the stunning canyon viewing platform, there’s also a fort star gazing platform that’s perfect for constellation spotting come nightfall. Not a bad way to round out the night, wouldn’t you agree?
