This Instagram Account Is Hilariously Calling Out Unrealistic Camping Snaps
Instagram is the perfect social platform for sharing fire travel snaps and soaking up inspiration for your next adventure. But it’s not uncommon to stumble upon an Insta shot that looks a little too good to be true.
The photo-sharing platform is bombarded with camping pics right now. And for good reason. An idealistic camp shot under the wide, starry sky is a surefire way to ignite a bit of wanderlust. Yet, given the way some photos are put together, you could be forgiven for wondering if you could really set up camp there?

Some of the photos featured on youdidnotsleepthere are of camps atop dangerous cliff faces, the base of idyllic waterfalls and… floating on top of Central Park? While we always encourage people to get outdoors and do fun and interesting things, these photos don’t seem to be telling the whole story.
This one is most certainly primed for a fall.
I mean, where is this? Surely this isn’t a thing.
How did they… I mean, how are they… I mean, just, what.?
This camping spot, on Norway‘s famous Trolltunga, just looks downright dangerous.
And we want to stress that we absolutely do not condone anybody sleeping on a road.
Or a train track, for that matter.
But of course, this very good boy can sleep anywhere he wants.
Yep, it’s safe to say that those Instagrammers probably didn’t sleep there. But, hey, they make for some really cool photos.
We’ll take a regular old camping spot any day.
